Abstract
In turbulence simulations, closure models formulate unresolved dynamics as functions of measurable variables. They play a central role in reducing the number of governing transport equations and the overall computational cost of simulations. In many cases, the feasibility of simulations is achieved solely by using these closure models. In this talk, a few techniques from classical invariant theory are explored to see how closure models can be built while maintaining consistent tensor symmetries, generalizability, and completeness.
